R.Kelly

Rating: NNNN

Since his recent legal trouble, R. Kelly seems to have made a mission out of creating the most universally lovable and catchy songs this side of Free To Be… You And Me. On this double album, he consistently sets absurd lyrics to gorgeous melodies. The first disc celebrates the happiness and wonder of life with danceable tunes, while the latter is much heavier on the gospel tip and obviously deals with his love for this dude called Christ. What you really need to know is that the liner notes contain a photo of him in profile holding a globe. Buy this and you will dance and laugh, just like the Pied Piper (one of R. Kelly’s many spooky nicknames) wants you to. What’s next, a concert DVD directed by Roman Polanski?
