It was disappointing enough to watch Robert Earl Keen pandering to the fickle frat-boy following who latched onto his tune The Road Goes On Forever when they discovered that the song's " and the party never ends" tag line was fun to shout in unison. But his unabated slide into cheap sentimentality with Gravitational Forces is just plain sad. As if playing for pity with guileless weepers about giving up and going nowhere isn't bad enough, he annoyingly attempts to replicate Johnny Cash's phrasing on I Still Miss Someone as some kind of tribute. Then he does Townes Van Zandt one worse by redoing Snowin' On Raton as a funeral march. Enough already.
