I didn't listen to this second Roger Sanchez album with much anticipation. True, he's more than paid his dues as a house DJ and had his name on some great house singles, but he definitely has a taste for awfully smelly cheese in his own work, especially in the past five years. Thankfully, the time between this and his debut full-length album has been well spent. He's done a good job on the big-room house anthems, some of which (Turn On The Music) are already bona fide hits and others set to follow when they get released as singles. The deeper soulful tracks are surprisingly well executed. If you loved his last album, you may not be into this, but if you found the last one disappointing compared to his past work, you'll be pleasantly surprised by this. It's not groundbreaking, but that's not really what's demanded of this kind of dance music.
