It’s hard to say whether this two-disc collection of the Rolling Stones’ best-loved tunes (along with four new throwaways) was intended as a cynical tour cash-in or a helpful tool that the elderly members could use as a refresher should they forget how Jumpin’ Jack Flash or Ruby Tuesday goes. Regrettably, much of the punch of those early Stones mono classics appears to have been lost in the digital transfer, likely leaving many fans wondering why they ever found these songs so exciting. Another reason to keep your vinyl. The Rolling Stones play the Air Canada Centre Wednesday (October 16).
