Sadoceanspacebear

Rating: NN

Let me begin by saying that sadoceanspacebear may be the front-runner for worst band name of all time. Unfortunately, that’s not this so-called collective’s (featuring members of the Constantines and Squirrel) only problem. It’s not that the songs aren’t good – they are. But after two tracks I get what the band is going for, and I’m ready to turn it off. Sadoceanspacebear sound like a haphazard blend of Jesus and Mary Chain and the Doors, skipping along from the psychedelic rock of the 60s to the grungiest parts of the 90s but leaving nothing new in their wake.

Sadoceanspacebear hit Sneaky Dee’s Friday and Sunday (July 15 and 17).
