Scattered Snares Across The Tracks (PTR Music) Rating: NNNN Rating: NNNN
This compilation of broken beats and nu-jazz was originally released in a slightly different form on Twisted Funk, the label run by Marc Mac of 4 Hero. It’s not entirely clear why PTR decided to remove some songs and add others, but this is still a solid compilation of techno-jazz-breakbeats, connecting UK-based artists with the emerging Toronto scene. If you like 4 Hero or groove on what PTR has been pushing for the past few years, you’ll like this, too – not a wack track on it.
