Sloan, with over 13 years of success, have always been Canada’s beloved indie band, and they continue to be ranked high on this side of the border. So why release a compilation of A-sides that most Canuck hipsters probably already have in their CD racks? This collection doesn’t reflect the magnitude of Sloan’s music. A best-of or rarities album would’ve been more enticing, especially when songs like Deeper Than Beauty are missing here. Even better would be the elusive Party album that came free with only a few One Chord To Another discs. If you don’t own any Sloan or if you’re American, it’s a good collection to buy, but for the rest of us, the two new tracks thrown in aren’t worth duplicating what you already have.
