For those of us still struggling to reconcile the cozy relationship between multinational media conglomerates and the protest music they often distribute, there’s good news: the Michael Moore juggernaut has now moved into movie soundtracks. Ostensibly a collection of stuff the Moore-ster listened to during the making of Fahrenheit 9/11, this whole thing reeks of a cash grab. Can you picture Moore sitting at his laptop headbanging along with System of a Down? Or how about doing the robot to the watered-down hiphop of Black Eyed Peas? Not likely. If inspiring dissent through dollar votes is the aim here, save the $20 and buy some free-trade coffee instead. JS
