One of those ubiquitous pop-slash-punk slash-rock bands, there's nothing particularly bad about Spitalfield's sophomore album on Victory Records. There's nothing fabulous about it either. Decent arrangements, nice harmonies, what you would probably call "edgy," or "driving" guitars, and perhaps "meaty" rhythms (or maybe I just like the word meaty). A little like the Foo Fighters but without the ex-Nirvananess. And the singer has one of those emo voices, so if you like that sort of thing this might be for you.
Spitalfield join the Alternative Press Tour at the Phoenix Tuesday (May 3).
