STANTON WARRIORS

Rating: NNNN

The two-step crack of UK garage is still something of a novelty in North America, though London production crew Stanton Warriors could change all that. Stanton Sessions rumbles like a broadcast from an amped-up dance hall sound system, ramming together hiphop, house, funk, jungle and sternum-rattling bass into one surging groove. The entire vibe of the disc is nailed in the Warriors’ take on Busta Rhymes’ Everybody Come On. The producers take Busta’s already twitching rhymes, speed them up and slam them back out over a steamroller of a garage break. Your essential midsummer soundtrack.
