Strike Anywhere

Rating: NNN

The sentiment is politico pop punk, but Strike Anywhere’s treatment is more early Deftones screamo. Exit English features a tight blend of strident rhythms, scattershot drums, casual chatter and laryngitis-inducing wails. Tone-wise, it’s a little unrealistic – you know, bleeding-heart naive, dystopically obstructed, utopically transcended and anthemically hopeful. But in a sea of aspiring conscientious objectors, Strike Anywhere have a firmer bead on their targets than most of their peers.

Strike Anywhere hit the Funhaus tonight (Thursday, July 29).
