Sunz of Man

One of the reasons Wu-Tang started going downhill was because of all the Wu-affiliated artists and groups that kept popping up and watering down their sound. Among them – specifically, Cappadonna, Killah Priest, the Killa Beez, Killarmy, Remed and Streetlife – was Sunz of Man. Had they not been Wu-Gambinos, no one would have listened. Back in the day, Sunz of Man’s Shining Star cover/collabo with ODB and Earth, Wind & Fire brought the group some shine, but the LP didn’t pay off. Years and years later, they’re back, indie, on a Dead Prez “fuck the government/stay conscious” vibe with a 2pac sample, Faith Evans cameo, some Kanye and RZA imitations and some hot sewer beats by 4th Disciple. A sincere effort.
