A side hobby for the singer of the Deftones, this album has been five years in the making, but it doesn’t really sound like they spent that time as well as they could have. Showing off an obvious affinity for all things Radiohead and Mogwai, TS drags on lazily, one lush and spacey song blending into the next. At some points, it’s hard to tell how this differs from quieter Deftones material. Even though some moments, like Tomb Of Liegia, are truly beautiful, they tend to be overshadowed by the album’s directionless, repetitive writing and pointless instrumentals.
