The Bled

Rating: NNN

When Tucson-bred metalcore kids the Bled hit the scene a few years back with their debut, Pass The Flask, they managed to fuse the aggression and frenetic energy of bands like Converge with melodic and beautifully overwrought moments. On their sophomore release, the band continues to bridge technical metal with quieter, Radiohead-esque experimentation. While singer James Munoz sounds like he was born for screaming, here he also demonstrates impressive control over his voice – which isn’t to say he doesn’t have a flair for the dramatic. These guys still have plenty of room to hone their style in the future, but Found In The Flood is definitely a step in the right direction.

The Bled hit Molson Park with the Warped Tour Saturday (July 30).
