The Bravery

Hey, this new-wave indie dance rock album was recorded in, like, a bunch of bedrooms in Brooklyn. While that automatically means The Bravery are way cooler than you, the band’s vocalist, Sam Endicott, really cannot sing. His voice is a nauseating faux Brit squeal that sounds like a coked-up Dom Deluise doing the Rapture and suffering cardiac arrest. Even more troubling are his lyrics. Samples include “Stop, drop and roll, you’re on fire,” and “You put the art in retarded.” Yikes. While I gotta give ’em snaps for the American Apparel-style pictures in their stylish sleeve, these black-haired bar stars make even the Killers sound good.

The Bravery warm up for Ash at the Opera House Wednesday (April 13).
