THE CLIKS

Rating: NNNN

buy this at amazon.ca!

Local four-piece garage rockers the Cliks aren’t exactly the buzz band hopping from hipster tongue to hipster tongue these days, which is both strange and, frankly, unjust they certainly do deserve a whole lot more attention and love than this city’s offered ’em so far. Mind you, sometimes we sure do love to hate here in the GTA, but really, what’s not to get excited about when you consider that the band, led by the rough-and-tumble-voiced Lucas Silveira, has an impressively consistent formula for writing catchy, stick-in-your-brain tunes that have all but perfectly translated to disc with the help of producer and former TPOH main man Moe Berg. It’s safe to say the Cliks have already spent enough time under the radar around these parts (especially since they’ll be playing elsewhere with Cyndi Lauper this summer), so hopefully they’ll get the recognition they deserve sooner rather than later.

The Cliks roll into Lee’s Palace tonight (Thursday, May 24).
