The Dead Milkmen are funny, and I love them for it, but they’re not 31 tunes’ worth of funny. See, I think it was really only the Milkmen’s sense of fun that got them anywhere. Now they’re all middle-aged and funny-looking and stuff, and they’ve released a retrospective of rare and unreleased material. Boy, is there ever a lot of it, and it’s mostly poorly recorded. If you’re a Milkmen fan, then listening to this will not only transport you back to your youth – it will take you back to a youth you never even knew. You might laugh your ass off, but then again you might not. A joke only goes so far, and there’s always somebody who doesn’t get it.
