On their website, Brooklyn-based punk rock ‘n’ rollers the Giraffes say that if you don’t like their music, “then go enjoy some John Mayer, and make sure to give him a reach around.” And that, in a nutshell, is what the Giraffes are about: playing fierce, ballsy, kick-ass rock without heed for personal safety or sanity. The guitar work and the drumming are completely inspiring, and the whole band sounds tight as fuck, especially on the jaw-droppingly good Sugarbomb, which speeds up faster and faster until it sounds like their gear and hearts are about to explode.
