The Living End

The Living End Modern Artillery (Reprise) Rating: NN

Rating: NN

I like it when these Australians are Ramonesy and showcase their enjoyment of the punk and rockabilly elements of the 1980s, but primarily this record ventures too often into faceless stadium melodic faux rock, perhaps thanks to the clean, math-rock-oriented work of Drive Like Jehu/Jimmy Eat World producer Mark Trombino. Far from worthless, but it doesn’t distinguish itself enough from the pack. However, if you like their sound, it’s jam-packed with tunes.
