I really wanted to like this album more, because the Mitgang Audio’s contribution to Suction Records’ last compilation was one of its highlights and because, on first listen, this album gleefully expands the narrow limits of purist electro-pop to include a wider variety of electronic influences. Unfortunately, too much vocoder robot singing and too many bland, emotionless melodies put this in the category of good but not great. If you love your classic electro, Italo-disco and new wave and also listen to IDM and minimal techno, you’ll get a kick out of this. Otherwise, you’ll probably want to pass on it.
