If there isn’t already an NXNE buzz on the Pop Shove-Its, there should be, strictly on the basis of the supercharged debut the Ottawa upstarts released themselves late last year. Despite the goofy name, their songs are surprisingly sophisticated, neatly assembled and fired out with a wired-up intensity that’s more in line with early Superchunk than Blink-182. They should be huge. See for yourself at the Rivoli tonight (Thursday, June 6) at 10 pm.
