Detroit next-big-things the Sights take a tip from the White Stripes and keep their garage-rock hammering simple. Got What We Want drops a bit of bangin’ Brit freakbeat flava in the mix without getting too fancy about it. Instead, they stick to setting their memorable melodies to a basic three-chord guitar whump and a steady drum snap. Nothing revolutionary, but it’s still better than anything the Strokes have done, and that should be reason enough to get the Sights “Your new favourite band” headlines on the covers of all the UK music mags.
