Some will shrug off this studio summit of slob rock savants Dan Baird, Eric “Roscoe” Ambel, Terry Anderson and Keith Christopher as a cockeyed attempt at recreating the ramshackle brilliance of the Stones’ Sticky Fingers, while those tired of prissy alt-country cack are certain to savour the Yahoos’ greasy chops and slapdash bravado. Fear Not The Obvious wasn’t created with radio programmers or marketing analysts in mind. This is reckless, two-four-friendly rock and roll made for fishing and/or fist fights with friends. A cottage-country classic.
