UNCLE KRACKER No Stranger To Shame (Lava/Warner) Rating: N Rating: N
Southern-fried punk Uncle Kracker follows up his double platinum debut with another disc of down-home tunes. Sure, he's Kid Rock's crony and sometime collaborator, but don't hold your breath for some nu-metal rap rock shit -- Kracker's all about Hootie-style countrified watery soul. Think Blues Traveler with less edge: cheesy all-American tunes to make truckers cry in their Miller Hi-Lifes. There's something wack about an album of twang-infested ballads for grannies and white-trash weddings that has an "explicit content" warning slapped across the front.
