World Cup Of Hockey 2004

Rating: NNNN

Come September, red jerseys, Canadian flags and honking car horns will fill city streets across the country as the World Cup of Hockey gets underway. To get you pumped, Universal’s decided to fill an entire disc with the best hockey arena tunes, which any puckhead should know by heart. It’s blasphemous that Stompin’ Tom isn’t included, but with the likes of Blur’s Song 2, Iggy’s Lust For Life and Kiss’s Rock N Roll All Nite as well as testosterone-packed tracks by the Ramones, the Hives, the Hip, U2 and others, you’ll hardly notice. While it’s the type of thing that should be included for free in yer 2-4, you end up with a good mix of tunes as well as a bonus DVD with past cup highlights, musicians and hockey stars talking music, and obligatory hockey trivia.
