Zoli

Rating: NNNN

Fields Of The Sun is a moody brew of 60s-folk-inflected psychedelia and Elliott Smith-style vocals. For that, it has the endearing pop-pastoral aesthetic that has worked so well for Neil Halstead, Chris Martin, Travis, Grandaddy, Gomez and the sweeter moments of the Beta Band. That Zoltan Czetner, aka Zoli, managed to stitch up this playfully heart-warming little album all by his lonesome from the podunk ville of Schomberg, Ontario, makes it all the more precious.
