Class of 2015 photo event brings Torontos music community together

Joel French has been in Torontos music community for seven years now promoting shows with People Put Out Productions and playing in bands but this year he had another idea to contribute: invite every musician, promoter, blogger to be in one giant photo (reminiscent of the famous A Great Day In Harlem photo).

We all see each other and support each other all year, French says, so why not sit down for a second and show how close we can actually be?

He estimates that over 150 people showed up to pose in the Class of 2015 photo at Trinity Bellwoods Park, despite Tuesdays ominous weather. There were smiles all around as photographer Ivy Lovell assembled the group. Rochelle Latinsky shot individual portraits of the attendees.

Many familiar faces were present, including Selina Martin, General Chaos and members of Fresh Snow, Hooded Fang, The Beverleys and Lowell.

Everyone was in real good spirits! French says. It was nice seeing people reconnect and move from circle to circle chatting with friends.

Missed the event? French has already decided to do it again in 2016.

I want to make this a tradition, a yearly event where we all look forward to meeting up for an afternoon.
