CLINTON’S 693 Bloor West, 416-535-9541, www.clintons.ca Rating: NNNNN
Clinton’s front half is a pub, and there’s a live stage and event space in the back. These days the back room tends to feature indie rock bands, comedy nights, poetry readings and a weekly Saturday-night 60s dance party called Shake A Tail.
Clinton’s claim to be Toronto’s second-oldest bar, so whatever it used to be is long forgotten.
A pint of domestic beer costs $6, and a basic burger and fries will run you $6.95. Cover charge for the back room is generally pretty small.
CAN YOU DANCE?
Saturdays see a busy dance floor, but people will look at you a little strange if you bust a move during a poetry reading, and alt-rock bands don’t generally inspire much ass-shaking.
