647 King West 416-361-9111

VIBE Formerly known as Mint et Menthe, this space was recently taken over by Hot Stepper Promotions, Garage 416 and Bump ‘N Hustle. Open Thursday through Saturday. Music policy and crowds reflect the vibe you know from Hot Stepper. Thursdays with Aki and Kevin Williams draw an older party crowd. Friday nights Moreno (aka Hot Stepper’s Pedro Mondesir ) plays a more eclectic mix of music than you might guess from his sets at Garage 416. Saturdays are more mainstream and house-focused, featuring Kevin “Kaje” Johnson .

FEATURES Not too much has changed since its Mint days – lights are orange instead of green and natural wood covers more surfaces. Operators plan to beef up the sound and renovate the look, but would rather keep it open for a few months as is.

VALUE Still no cover, and drink prices are in line with the rest of the area. No mandatory coat check or bathroom attendant to tip.

BATHROOMS Clean and functional but nothing to write home about.
