254 Adelaide West VIBE Formerly known as Blue Heaven, this small entertainment-district basement bar/club – not one of the chi-chi ones – is still under the same management. Music most nights is rave-inspired, in particular drum ‘n’ bass and breaks. The crowd is mainly young party kids mixed with some aging veterans, in contrast with the types who frequent the area’s other clubs. Decor is rough and raw, and there’s a small dance floor.
VALUE Little to no cover most nights, and middle-of-the-road drink prices. Definitely one of the more downscale lounge/clubs in Toronto – not really the kind of place where you’d worry about dress code or bribing the door man.
BATHROOMS On the grungy side, with a sign reminding you to clean up after yourself so that the bartenders don’t have to. Small, but right for the size of the bar.
