VIBE Hush has switched things up since it first opened as an upscale lounge. The sound is beefed up, there’s more dance-floor space and it’s going for more of an underground club vibe. House music on the weekends, down-tempo during the week and special events on most long weekends.
VALUE Cover charge on the weekend ranges between $10 and $20, depending on the night and whether there’s a special guest. A domestic beer costs $5.25 and a mixed drink $6.75. There’s a coat check, but it’s not mandatory.
BATHROOMS They’re kind of unisex – both share the same sinks, but the boys’ equipment is off to the side and hidden from view from the girls’ side. Clean, decent-looking, and there’s a washroom attendant to keep it that way.
LINEUP Haven’t seen any excessive queues, but you might have to wait a few minutes if you’re unlucky enough to arrive behind a big crowd of people who insist they should be on the list.
