VIBE This brand new, intimate dance club just west of Spadina focuses mainly on tech-house and related sounds. It’s laid out as one big room with a lounge area and dance floor.
PEDIGREE Although the people behind it used to help organize the parties at infamous warehouse venue 99 Sudbury, Footwork will operate during normal bar hours. The space was briefly known as Crybaby, and before that had a run as a goth bar under the name Matrixx. Third time lucky?
SOUND & LIGHTS The sound is still being tuned, adjusted and beefed up, but there’s definitely enough wattage, since the owners moved the entire system here from their much larger previous space. There are a couple of smart lights and a few disco balls, but nothing too trippy or disorienting.
LINEUP This is a new place with a good buzz around it, and the bouncers are searching patrons at the door, so expect a queue if you arrive at peak time.
