Blak is a new basement dance club that focuses on rave-related sounds on Fridays, nu-rave beats Saturdays and other DJ grooves throughout the week. It stays open later than the average club and is starting to compete with the Comfort Zone for the morning-after party crowd.
PAST LIVES
Most recently this spot was known all too briefly as Crosstown, and before that as live music venue Healey’s. The predecessor it most resembles, though, is the infamous Bassmint.
CAN YOU DANCE?
That’s what this place is about, so you’d better be ready to shake your ass. Not a lot of seating, but plenty of bass and lasers.
BATHROOMS
If you think you’ll find posh washrooms at a place that’s still pounding when the sun comes up, you’ll be disappointed. Expect a bit of grunge.
