WHERE You can catch her every Friday in the Bathroom Bar at Circa (126 John), as part of Randomland, as well as every Sunday at the Bovine Sex Club (542 Queen West) as part of Thunderpussy. The last Friday of every month sees her at Z (812 Dundas West) as part of the Get Lucky party.
WHAT “I play primarily mashups and love to sample all kinds of different styles of music, including electro, Bmore, hip-hop, rock, retro, pop music and classics. My favourite challenge at the moment is sample matching – playing different mashups or remixes with the samples from the same song to skip from genre to genre.”
WHY “I was inspired when I discovered artists like 2 Many DJs, because of their musical knowledge and complete disregard for genre continuity. The idea that I could take music from all kinds of different decades and genres and mix them all together was so tempting. I bought turntables and started playing records in my bedroom – some I’d bought and others from my parents’ collection – to see what I could do.”
CAREER HIGHLIGHT “Definitely playing the NOW Magazine Love & Sex party this past February in the Mirror Ballroom at Circa. I have never been so excited. Playing for a big crowd was a huge rush of adrenaline, and I look forward to seeking out larger bookings.”
