DJ CRYO (aka CRYOGENETIC, half of SYNTONICS)

Rating: NNNNN

WHERE You can catch him this Saturday (November 10), at Sneaky Dee’s (431 College), opening up for Baltimore’s David Nada, as part of the monthly Fuck Faces party. On November 17 he’ll be playing at the Method Man after-party (location tba), and on November 22 he’s DJing for Fritz Helder and the Phantom’s CD release after-party at the Social.

WHAT “Feel-good party tunes, including Miami bass, booty, rap, electro funk, boogie, 80s disco, house, ghetto tech, B’more, grime, freestyle and body breaks.”

WHY “When I was about seven years old, I bought Rockit by Herbie Hancock. I also won a record in a breakdance competition in the 80s. Listening to rap music as a child, I became obsessed with the sound of DJs scratching and used to mess around with my parents’ turntable a bit. In the 90s I got into rave culture, which revived my interest in DJing.”

WEIRDEST MOMENT ON THE JOB “Getting offered a BJ to play a request.”
