Erykah Badu remixes PartyNextDoor’s Come And See Me

One of our favourite R&B jams just got a little jam-ier. Erykah Badu has sprinkled White Patchouli all over Mississauga MC PartyNextDoor’s Drake-featuring single Come And See Me.

We recently playlisted song, which is all about being in one of those relationships where one person puts in all the work while the other sits in the studio and records song after song about their overwhelming sense of inertia.

The Dallas soul/funk singer’s version, which she has called Come And See Badu – the official BADU PARTY NEXT DOOR DUET REMIX, references several Baduesque things like incense, tuning forks and crotchet pants. Given that her last Toronto concert was in March 2013 we might throw the song’s chorus right back at her: “Come and see me for once/You don’t ever come to me.”

Although her last studio album was 2010’s still-brilliant New Amerkyah Part Two: Return Of The Ankh, Badu has been keeping fans satiated with new music by remixing Wintertime’s Thru It All, Kanye West’s Real Friends and Drake’s Hotline Bling – a song that inspired last year’s But You Caint Use My Phone mixtape.
