VIBE Owned by the same folks as Gypsy Co-op, Fez Batik tries to bring some of that Queen West bohemian vibe to clubland. Like a lot of the newer clubs of the past few years, it doubles as a restaurant, but most know it as a nightspot. Musically, you can hear hiphop, reggae, soul, deep house and other forms, depending on the night. In the summer the large patio is one of its main attractions. It feels more like a lounge than a club, even though it’s closer to the size of a dance venue.

VALUE There’s a small cover most of the time and a larger one for special events. Drinks are in the middle of the price range ($4.75 for either a domestic beer or bar shot).

BATHROOMS The washrooms are fairly clean and well maintained. They’re not huge but adequate for the capacity of the space.

LINEUP On weekends and during event nights there may be a queue, but it usually moves pretty quickly. If the line doesn’t seem to be moving, the space may be at capacity. Just ask the bouncer.
