FRENCH HORN REBELLION at The Whippersnapper. Friday, June 19. nxne.com Rating: NNNN
“On four, I want everyone to do a dance they’ve never done before!” yelled French Horn Rebellion’s creative vocalist Robert Perlick Molinari.
While he did bust out a French horn at times, the Brooklyn four-piece played a set of blissed-out indie-dance gems not anything as orchestral as their name might suggest. Keeping with their stated desire to see fans get down, the band was able to supply a seemingly endless stream of huge, fun beats and winning synth lines for the enamored crowd of Matt and Kim leftovers. The ensuing dance-fest proved FHR to be perfect party starters.
