This year’s competition was strong, and most ofthe other contenders were much more musically conservative and accessible.
After winning, Fucked Up announced that they plan to use the $20,000 prize to make a benefit recording to raise awareness about the estimated 500 aboriginal women missing in Canada – making it difficult for the less punk-friendly to hate on them for their extraordinary success.
