A few years ago it seemed like every new indie band name contained the word “wolf.” Over the past year the tides have turned and the favourite band word of the moment is “girls.” Dum Dum Girls didn’t mean to get caught up in the trend, but their drummer, Frankie Rose, used to be in Vivian Girls (with whom her current band is often compared). Dum Dum Girls open Friday at the Phoenix for the band Girls. How could we ignore the connection?
