Who’s your favourite Toronto artist?

Hmmm… The best thing about Toronto is the improv stuff, usually – stuff Montreal only gets a couple weeks out of the year. I Have Eaten The City are great. Owen Pallett is frustratingly talented.

What’s the wildest time you’ve ever had in Toronto?

Think About Life played a show at Sneaky Dee’s where this basketball was flying around and knocking into everything. I think I was in a mosh pit most of the time and couldn’t make it back to the stage for the changes. I found I dribbled quite well.

What was your biggest misconception about Toronto?

I thought that because of the fancy waterfront people would be very mature and reserved.

What was your most memorable border crossing experience heading to Toronto?

I was coming onto Yonge when Canada’s hockey team won Olympic gold. A lot of people were weaving through traffic in their Canadian flag boxers.

How do you spend your day off in T.O.?

I get up and eat at that diner at Queen and Ossington. I order over easy and receive scrambled, without fail. Then, maybe, I’ll rest some more. After that it’s usually free lunch at whatever restaurant my friends work at. Usually I’ll run into fellow Stratford ex-pats and talk through the afternoon.
