Capsule Music

Just steps from Igor Kenk’s now-shuttered bike “shop” you’ll find Capsule Music, a quaint customer-focused -guitar boutique. Serving the Trinity Bellwoods neighbourhood for over 10 years, Capsule feels like the ground floor of someone’s home, except that every conceivable space is filled with guitars, amps and accessories.

The decor has a subtle rustic, country-and-western sensibility, especially in the backroom, which is stocked with vintage lap steels and acoustics. There’s a pretty decent selection of new, used and consigned merchandise – Capsule also buys used gear. The friendly staff do repairs and operate a cool program where you can rent any of the floor stock for a gig or just to try out.

While the staff at some music stores seem to enjoy making you feel stupid or insignificant, the folks at Capsule have no egos or pretension. They just want to see you rock.
