Entering its 28th year, Canadian Music Week is Canada’s longest-running music industry conference. This year’s big-name headliners aren’t particularly exciting, but there are plenty of up-and-coming acts worth checking out. We’ll highlight them over the next two weeks.
The concert series is now branded Canadian Music Fest, but don’t worry – your CMF wristband still gets you into CMW conference events (like the celebrity interview with Slash). It won’t get you into all the concerts higher-profile ones allow a limited number of wristbands or, in a couple of cases, no wristband access at all. Kind of makes you wonder why those gigs are part of CMW.
Technically, CMW runs from March 10 to 14, but if you look closely at the schedule, you’ll notice that the Jamie Cullum/Imelda May gig at Massey Hall is actually on March 9. (As of press time, CMW has it listed on March 10, but they’re confused.) Check cmw.net for more information on wristbands and tickets.
