What Toronto restaurant do you like to eat at before a show?

Eating before a show is performance suicide, but I do like Marinela-Wedge (31 Widmer).

Who’s your favourite local artist?

Mike Parsons. Walk the north sidewalk of Queen West between John and Spadina and you see Mike’s apocalyptic black and white paintings of mass destruction.

What do you love most about Toronto?

The abundance of small, cozy pubs and Firkins where you piss the bitter-cold winter nights away

What do you hate about the city?

It’s a toss-up between the shit smell and the abominably pretentious hipsters and their undying romance with bicycles.

Hotel of choice?

The Hôtel Le Germain (30 Mercer). It’s chic, and the in-hotel restaurant, Chez Victor, gives you one surefire way to impress a date.

How do you spend your day off here?

I start the day with a Tim Hortons double-double and a toasted blueberry bagel with regular cream cheese. Then I shop – Good Foot, Addidas and many other shops on Bay or Queen – or I stay inside in my underwear and play World Of Warcraft until my nose starts to bleed.

What was your biggest misconception about the city?

I am a total country bumpkin loser – I thought I’d never find my way around.
