What's been your strangest experience onstage?
When we played a big radio show with Hot Hot Heat and the Killers, I accidentally slammed my head into my keyboard and sliced a huge hole in my forehead. It was the second song in our 30-minute set, and the blood was literally spraying out of my head. I just kept playing and figured if I passed out someone would take care of me. After the show, the doctor said I needed stitches and they would have to shave the top of my head to put them in. Nope! I declined the medical attention and waited for the bleeding to stop, which took a while.
If you'd never gotten involved in writing and playing music, how would you be making a living today?
I'd probably be delivering pizza, which I've done many times in the past. Easy money, good tips, and I get to listen to music in my car. Oh, and free pizza at the end of my shift.
What currently popular song do you never wanna hear again?
That lip gloss song by Lil Mama. Oof. Really? Your lip gloss is cool? Your lip gloss is poppin'?
What actor would you want to star in the film version of your life story?
Crispin Glover. Misunderstood genius who looks nerdy, like me.
What part of your body do you like the least?
I wish my feet were smaller, so I could buy cool shoes in Japan.
