What Toronto restaurant do you like to eat at before a show?
I’m gonna be on the hunt for some premium cheese pizza or garmet Canadian quizeen. Which I’m not sure about – do you guys make a mean veggie plate or nachos?!
What club do you hit when you want to party after the gig?
After the shows I’m drenched in my own sweat and my body aches from the dance moves that I’ve asked it to do. But I always have energy to dance to Gimmie Gimmie More or Toxic by Britney Spears. So whatever clubs play those songs, I gotta find them and rule that dance floor. You tell me where to go!
Who’s your favourite Toronto artist?
I really think Elvira Curt is hul-larious. I also love Pamela Gilmartin, who plays guitar at the Old Nick. She’s done covers of some of my songs that are freaking amazing!
What do you love most about Toronto?
The shopping. I can’t remember what the street’s called, but some friends took me there to buy luggage and Hello Kitty gear and stripper shoes. Such a blast! They even sell gold spandex, which I always need to load up on.
What do you hate about the city?
Driving in is such a drag. But I forget that really fast when I’m rockin’ the people and dancing for loose change.
Hotel of choice?
I go for cheap with free WiFi, and if they have an indoor pool, that’s a major plus!
How do you spend your day off in Toronto?
There is a street full of arty gifts I’ve never seen before!! I do love your black squirrels. They should be your national treasure.
What was your biggest misconception about Toronto?
I really wanna see a bronze statue of Alanis Morissette somewhere. With the words “You-you-you outta know.”
Most memorable border crossing experience heading here?
My licence plate says “WEB DIVA,” and the customs officer actually gave me a hard time. I struggled to explain what it means to be an Internet celebrity, but I don’t think he got it.
What was the wildest time you’ve ever had in Toronto?
When I’m onstage and the freaks and crafters come out with homemade gems, sweaters and lots of love. My god, I love Toronto!
