What Toronto restaurant do you like to eat at before a show?

I usually don’t eat before a show. Food should be appreciated, enjoyed and not rushed. I prefer the liquid diet before a show – booze it up, baby.

Where in Toronto do you go after a gig?

Gigs usually end at someone’s house.  Home is where the heart is, and there’s nothing better than hanging out with the people you care about. No need to be “on.” Actually, I’m usually playing host at the home pad. “Can I get you a drink or something?”

What do you love most about Toronto?

Lake Ontario and Centre Island. I have a sailboat, and there’s nothing more amazing than sailing around the city and then docking at Centre Island and admiring the city from a distance.  Toronto has a beautiful skyline. People should take advantage of the city parks. Actually, never mind that, cuz then they’ll be too crowded.

What do you hate about the city?

Toronto can be cold. People love to look at the floor and walk away quickly. Heaven forbid you say hello to someone – they think you’re gonna kill them. When I first moved into my joint in L.A., I met more people in the elevator in the first week than I’d met in Toronto in my life!

How do you spend your day off in Toronto?

I’m usually here only in the summer, so it’s awesome. Then when winter comes, it’s back down to L.A. If I do find myself here in the winter, I’m mostly in restaurants.

Most memorable border-crossing experience heading to Toronto?

One of the guys made a joke about having drugs. Yeah, real smart. They brought out the rubber gloves on him. You know what happened….

What was the wildest time you’ve ever had in Toronto?

Um… I used to be pretty wild back in the day. Think of anything and it probably happened to me. Is there a Fifth Amendment in the Canadian Charter Of Rights?
