When we first encountered Maylee Todd, the Toronto singer/songwriter was performing quirky solo shows accompanying herself on Paraguayan harp and a looping pedal, as well as playing in indie bands like Henri Fabergé and the Adorables, and Woodhands. Over the past few years though, she's transformed herself into a mischievous cosmic disco diva, specializing in cheerful, upbeat roller boogie funk.
She's gearing up to release her second solo album in early 2013, but just dropped a new single and video called Baby's Got It.
Shot over the summer by up-and-coming local director Reynard Li, the clip is a good representation of the playful surrealist vibe that often infects her live shows.
