WHERE Saturday (November 22) at Wrongbar (1279 Queen West), opening up for legendary hip-hop and electro pioneers Newcleus as part of Activator November 29 at the Drake (1150 Queen West), playing classic hip-hop as part of the monthly Never Forgive Action party Wednesdays at LeVack Block (88 Ossington), as part of Loose Joints. He and the rest of the NFA crew will also be at Revival (783 College) December 5 hosting Hip-Hop Karaoke.
WHAT “I’ll always have a soft spot for late 80s and early 90s hip-hop, because that’s the goodness I grew up on. I also like to play funk, soul, disco, funky jazz and any current electronic and hip-hop joints inspired by the aforementioned.”
WHY “When I began Never Forgive Action back in 2004, I realized the DJs I was playing with were very talented and I needed to step up my game. I thought I could get away with just playing records, but if you want to rock a party and keep the dance floor bumping, you have to mix, period.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “Rainn Wilson from The Office gave me £1 for playing Gang Starr. I guess that’s not really that weird, but I just wouldn’t have pegged him as a Premo fan.”
