You might’ve missed out on tickets to Friday (December 11)’s sold-out tribute concert to late Canadian pianist Oscar Peterson, but good news: it’ll be live-streamed via the Royal Conservatory of Music’s website.
Oscar @ 90 marks Peterson’s 90th birthday and doubles as the launch of the album Oscar, With Love, which features recordings of several Canadian and international pianists playing on his Bösendorfer Imperial piano, which will be brought to Koerner Hall for the performance.
The bill includes seven of the 17 pianists featured on the album – Kenny Barron, Robi Botos, Bill Charlap, Gerald Clayton, Benny Green, Oliver Jones and Renee Rosnes – as well as bassist Dave Young. Peterson’s daughter, Céline Peterson, hosts. rcmusic.ca/livestream.
